Indecent exposure suspect sought in UTC area

The San Diego Police Department is investigating a number of cases involving a male suspect exposing himself and/or touching women in the University Towne Center area.

Ten cases over a period of several months have now been linked to this suspect. The suspect approaches the victim and either grabs her buttocks or crotch area; and/or exposes himself and then flees the area.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic or Middle Eastern male, 20-25 years of age, 5'4" to 5'10" thin build, clean shaven, short, dark hair with a medium to dark complexion. The suspect has been seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants.

SDPD safety recommendations include:

-Walk and exercise in groups; whenever possible

-Pay attention to your surroundings

-Always carry your cell phone with you but don't talk on the phone while walking to and from your car or to and from the bus, etc. If you are talking on the phone you are not paying attention to your surroundings.

-Park in well-lighted areas

-Be a good witness but don't put yourself in danger by trying to apprehend a suspect

-Notify SDPD if you observe individuals hanging around in areas for no apparent purpose

-Call police immediately if you have been a victim
