Rotary volunteers go to work in community Saturday

The natural habitats of San Diego County got some special attention from the local Rotary Clubs on Saturday, April 25.

A crew of volunteers, including Del Mar Boy Scout Troop 713, participated in the annual Rotarian At Work day, contributing hundreds of man-hours spent working on a boardwalk and trail along the river.

The group built a trail and fence along the river from the Del Mar Fire Station to Interstate 5.

The Rotary Club of Torrey Pines transplanted, relocated and initially watered 365 coast live oak trees at the Kate Sessions Nursery in Balboa Park. The oaks were transplanted last year from seedling liners to one-gallon pots. This year they were moved into five-gallon containers to continue their growth. They will ultimately be planted in the park.
