Ten Questions: Chris Estrella has got the moves

Chris Estrella's life as a dancer began when he was about 15 years old. He and his friends used to get together and dance in their garages after school. When they began performing at different venues, Estrella found himself enamored with the whole process - working together as a team, the hard work in perfecting a piece, the costumes, the rehearsals and the adrenalin rush of performing.

Before graduating from college, Estrella had already begun developing C-Star Productionz and was teaching all over the county. He put on small shows at studios so his students could showcase what they were learning in class. Due to its popularity, the show kept increasing in size.

In 2006, Estrella did some volunteer work with teenagers and became aware of the many problems in San Diego. When he decided to combine his shows with this cause, artists started coming out of the woodwork to be part of it.

His next "All 4 U Talent and Dance" show will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 at UCSD's Mandeville Auditorium. The show, which will feature hip-hop, tap, ballroom, salsa, hula and belly dancing, will benefit homeless teens in San Diego County.
