Thanks to 9-1-1 paramedics

My husband had been ill for a week following a reaction to taking Clindamycin prescribed by his dentist after having a root canal. A week later, on Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, after being advised by my doctor's office to do so, I telephoned 9-1-1.

By the time the telephone conversation with 9-1-1 was ending, I heard sirens approaching my house. There were three firemen in the large fire truck and two paramedics in the ambulance. They came into the bedroom and immediately began to evaluate my husband's condition, asking questions, taking his pulse and blood pressure, etc. They determined that he should be transported to Scripps in Encinitas, as that is the closest emergency facility to our home.

This matter was handled with a great deal of competence, kindness, care and consideration, both to me and my husband. Fortunately, I have never had the occasion to call 9-1-1 before, and hopefully, will not need them in the future, but if it is necessary, I can rest assured that the care provided will be excellent.

Thanks so much to the great paramedics and the services they provide.

Very truly yours,

Royce Weiss
