"Our students do amazing things in the classroom, on the field of play and in the community," Principal Brett Killeen said. "We wish them the very best and are most excited about what they are going to do next in their lives."

In the classroom, Torrey Pines students continued to excel. Thirty-one qualified as National Merit Scholarship finalists, with 10 winning scholarships.

On the field, their teams ruled the Avocado League this year and won CIF titles in cross country, field hockey, boys track and field, tennis and boys soccer.

Falcons showed their talent in the arts as well. Their bands placed high in the Los Angeles Music Festival and members of the Torrey Pines Players theatre group earned a spot to perform in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer.

The class of 2009 will be representing Torrey Pines in the fall at schools including Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Brown.
