Clothing drive to benefit veterans

A clothing drive is planned to benefit Veteran's Village of San Diego's Stand Down For Homeless Veterans.

Veteran's Village of San Diego (VVSD) is hosting a drive through clothing drive from 6 a.m. through 3 p.m. Friday, June 26, at its Pacific Highway headquarters in preparation for its annual Stand Down for Homeless Veterans event which is held in July.

Clothing items needed include jeans, shirts, shoes, socks and new underwear. Toiletries, such as razors, shaving cream, toothpaste, combs, deodorant, bath towels and travel size shampoos, conditioners, soaps and lotions, are also desired. All donations are tax deductible.

Hosted and underwritten by VVSD, San Diego's National Stand Down for Homeless Veterans will take place Friday, July 17 through Sunday, July 19 on the upper athletic field of San Diego High School.
