Republican Women honor Bess Reagan

The Rancho Santa Fe Republican Women held a "Hats, Gloves and Pearls" afternoon tea at the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe on Feb. 25 to celebrate the 101st birthday of Bess Reagan, sister-in-law of the late former President Ronald Reagan.

Bess, a Rancho Santa Fe resident since the 1980s, was unable to attend because of her health, but the party went on in her honor.

Attendees enjoyed tea and treats and a letter from Nancy Reagan was read.

The Republican women looked lovely in their pearls and hats and there were even a couple of lucky men in attendance - Jere Oren and Bruce Ruff.

The group will next meet at 6 p.m. March 11 at the home of treasurer Deana Carter, 5555 La Sencilla.

All are welcome, including men. For more information, call 756-1960.
