More than 400 friends of the San Diego Natural History Museum gathered at the museum on March 6 for the seventh Dos Aguilas Binational Fiesta.
Inside and out, the museum was transformed into a Mexican fiesta. Epicurean tasting stations offered food from Romesco Baja Med Bistro, El Rey Sol, El Vitral Restaurant and Tequila Lounge, Cowboy Star and others. A mariachi band and the Opera de Tijuana performed.
The event celebrated the binational region and recognized honorees who have contributed significantly to cross-border cooperation and environmental understanding.
The following people were honored: Richard Kiy of International Community Foundation, Enrique Gamboa of Club de Ninos Y Ninas de Mexico and the Boys and Girls Club of Mexico, and Exequiel Ezcurra of UC Mexus.
Yolanda Walther-Meade and her daughter Yolanda S. Walther-Meade co-chaired the event, which benefited the San Diego Natural History Museum's binational research and education programs.
