The Del Mar Mesa Preserve's new Resource Management Plan, which includes the fate of the popular Deer Canyon Tunnel trails, has taken yet another detour.
Anne Harvey, vice chair of the Los Penasquitos Canyon Citizens Advisory Committee, said that the city is still working with agencies on developing the Resource Management Plan for the area. The agencies include the California Department of Fish and Game and the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife, which both own portions of the land.
The CAC meets every other month, so the earliest the city could present plans to the group would be July 16.
The trails through the environmentally sensitive habitat remain closed to all users.
