'Alice' delights community center

The Rancho Santa Fe Community Center put on "Alice in Wonderland" last Thursday night. The gym transformed into a theater for their lively production, with beautiful sets painted by Debbie Fitzpatrick.

Cheshire Cats Maranda Phillips, Greer Moseman and Hunter Csathy enthusiastically narrated the play, which featured numerous musical numbers such as "The Unbirthday Song" and "The Golden Afternoon" with flower girls twirling parasols.

Michelle Wakeman, Erin Roach and Molly Gillies all starred as Alice, to portray the different sizes of the curious girl after the effects of eating magical cookies or drinking shrinking potions.

Young actors Seth Rossier and Chris Gaylord really got to ham it up as Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee and Amanda Mabbutt was a perfectly harried White Rabbit.

Next up is "Mary Poppins." Auditions will be held on July 31 from 9 to 11 a.m. for the Aug. 7 show.
