SDSurfWhite recently won the CalSouth State Cup Soccer Tournament in Lancaster. Fifty-one teams from across Southern California competed in the President's Division of the Girls Under-10 Tournament.
The Surf team competed in eight games on their way to the final, allowing only two goals in the entire tournament.
The final game versus the Legends FC team from east of Los Angeles was a true nail biter for both teams. After no score in the regular game, and no score in two over-time periods, both teams moved into penalty kicks.
The Surf team was down 2-0 in penalty kicks until key goals were made to move ahead 3-2 in penalty kicks. Goalie Elle Samiere made two more saves on the way to the win.
The team is coached by Chris Lemay.

Trio leads SeaLions
The San Diego SeaLions (WPSL) has named former Women's U.S. National Team member Jen Lalor-Nielsen as head coach, along with two assistants, San Diego Sockers defender Sean Bowers and former Chinese national team Captain Ouying Zhang.
"We are very fortunate to have Jen at the helm this season", SeaLion General Manager Amie Becker said. "Jen has played at every level of the game, and brings extensive coaching and training experience to the team. A former SeaLion herself, we will miss Jen on the field, but we're honored and proud to have her on the sidelines leading us to a WPSL championship."
Currently, she and her husband Bo own and operate JB soccer, a soccer-specific training company.
