The San Diego Museum of Art Artist Guild will host Fine Art Festival VI on March 13-14 in the Copley Auditorium in the west wing of the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park.
Entered from the new Sculpture Cafe, the look, tone and feel of the art sale this year will be "upscale, elegant, colorful and exciting," according to guild members.
Twenty-six artists will participate in the juried show/sale, offering a variety of art types, both 2-D and 3-D. The mediums represented will include oils, acrylics, watercolor, mixed media, metal, clay, glass and jewelry.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets, $5-$10, can be bought at the door.
A special preview will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. March 12, with tickets set at $10-$20. Children age 15 and under may attend the preview for free.
The art will be juried by San Diego Museum curators Julia Marciari Alexander and John Marciari. The artists will be in their display space for the duration of the festival, allowing patrons to meet them, develop an understanding of their works and discuss their art needs.
