Students' art comes full circle

Each class at Skyline Elementary was hard at work on Feb. 26, creating art projects to be auctioned off at the fifth annual Solana Beach Ball. The event takes place at 6 p.m. April 17 at the Fairbanks Ranch Country Club, and includes dinner and dancing. The ball will raise money for Solana Vista and Skyline's science, technology, performing arts and physical education programs. Organizers say fundraisers overwhelmingly support these subjects, especially in the current economy. The goal for the event is to raise $100,000.

Children's Art chair Helga Fazio said the students' artwork comes full circle in that the projects they auction benefit their academic programs: "It's a really nice opportunity for the community to come together, for the community of our schools to come together, and obviously people are very supportive and generous."
