Last week, Coast Waste Management employees went “undercover” in Del Mar to catch green-minded clients in the act of effectively recycling waste items. On behalf of their restaurants, Jon Schmauss, manager of Jake’s Del Mar, and Sergio Palacios, supervisor at the Board & Brew, were presented with a $50 coupon usable on their next recycling invoice as well as an eco-friendly, insulated Waste Management lunch bag containing a reusable water bottle and lunch container.

“We’re always on the lookout to catch our customers ‘green handed’ and reward them for recycling responsibly,” said Lori Somers, community and municipal relations manager for Coast Waste Management and Waste Management of North County. “We were pleased to recognize two Del Mar hotspots for thinking and acting green.”
