The San Diego Police Department’s Carmel Valley Northwestern Division is warning residents to stay alert after a new series of crimes in the area. Adrian Lee, community relations officer, said they are seeing a trend of burglaries with suspects entering through sliding glass backdoors in morning hours. On Wednesday, March 23, there were three cases in the Del Mar Mesa Road neighborhood and, in one incident, the resident was only gone for an hour or two, leading the police to believe the suspect is casing the scene for opportunities.
“We just ask everyone to pay attention to vehicles in your neighborhood,” Lee said. “It just might be your tip that helps solve some of these cases.”
To make a non-emergency report, call the division at (858) 523-7000.
