Solana Beach Library to hold audio downloading workshops

As technology continues to develop at warp speed, the convenience and mobility of listening devices have created an opportunity for readers and listeners to “take it to the streets.” One can listen to books in their car, while cooking in the kitchen, exercising at the gym, walking on the beach, or even while shopping. The material is free when you download audiobooks from the library and selected podcasts from the Internet.

The Solana Beach Library is offering two workshops on how to download from the Internet onto your computer or listening device such as an IPOD or MP3 player. The first workshop, which will be held on Saturday, June 4, at 1 p.m., will teach library users how to download free audiobooks from the San Diego County Library.

The second workshop on Saturday, June 18, at 1 p.m., will show users how to download and subscribe to broadcasts of many popular public radio shows, such as NPR’s “Fresh Air.” These are hands-on workshops, so bring your laptop and audio device.

For more information, contact the Solana Beach Library at 858-755-1404. The library is located at 157 Stevens Ave. on the campus of Earl Warren Middle School in Solana Beach.
