Red ribbons were tied all over the Ashley Falls School neighborhood last week in remembrance of Joshua Chang, a third-grader who died as a result of a brain tumor. Red was Joshua’s favorite color and students were also wearing red bracelets with a “J” on them to honor their classmate. The Del Mar Union School District board all expressed their condolences to the family at the Jan. 18 meeting. Board member Kristin Gibson wore red and president Scott Wooden wore a red bracelet his daughter knit for him to remember Joshua. Ashley Falls is also planning a memorial garden on campus in honor of Joshua.
