Torrey Hills School took part in the Regional Science Olympiad competition at Rancho Bernardo High School on Feb. 8. There were 111 teams from 59 schools, mostly middle schools. The students trained with teachers, parent coaches and community members in 23 events covering life sciences, physical sciences and earth sciences. Sixth-graders, and some fifth-graders, worked every week for the past three months. Torrey Hills placed ninth overall.
