Torrey Pines High School announced March 17 that former assistant coach Ron Gladnick has been hired for the vacant football head coaching job. Gladnick was head coach at Clairemont High School for the past two seasons, where he led the Chieftains to their first play-off victory in 20 years. Gladnick is a former high school and college player who had a “cup of coffee” with the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers. A CEO and retired business owner, Gladnick lives in Fairbanks Ranch. His stepson, Vinny Arvia, played for Torrey Pines High School. Look for a more detailed story in next week’s paper.
