Sycamore Ridge Elementary School students and parents participated in the student council-sponsored Read Across America Dr. Seuss birthday celebration on Friday, March 6.
The event was another organized by the Dads' Club, a part of the school's PTA, which gives fathers a chance to come to school and participate in activities with their children.
Some of the children came to school in pajamas with their stuffed animals and "blankies" in tow.
Activities varied as all grades participated. The kindergartners made green eggs and ham and Dr. Seuss hats, which they proudly wore as they snuggled with their dads or other family members.
The school also collected gently used books for the St. Vincent de Paul Village so they would have the opportunity to read books as well.
