St. James welcomes new principal

St. James Academy in Solana Beach welcomes a new principal for the 2009-2010 academic year. Kathy Dunn succeeds retiring Principal Donna Kruszona.

Dunn brings 23 years of experience in Catholic education to the position as a teacher, athletic director, student activities director, academic advisor, vice principal and principal in Northern California.

She holds a bachelor's of arts degree in liberal arts with an emphasis on math and science, and a master's degree in educational counseling.

"I look forward to joining St. James Academy and continuing the tradition of academic excellence and spiritual growth," Dunn said.

The St. James community recently honored Kruszona for her 10 years of service at the academy.

"I am delighted to be turning over the reins to a strong, experienced and faithful leader," Kruszona said.
