Children in grades K-6 are invited to enter a photo contest to help celebrate the beauty of Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve Extension.
Sponsored by the Torrey Pines Association and the Torrey Pines Docent Society, the contest is being held in conjunction with the Extension's 35th anniversary celebration.
Color or black-and-white photographs taken at the Extension, printed in 8x10 format, should be submitted by Aug. 8. They can be dropped off at the Visitor Center or by mail to Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, 12600 N. Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla 92037. Entries are final and won't be returned.
Winning photos will be exhibited at a party at Del Mar Heights Elementary School from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 22. The event will celebrate the conclusion of the grass-roots fundraising campaign that led to the Extension's acquisition and incorporation into the state reserve 35 years ago.
