Cool days, crisp nights. Welcome to December.
The National Weather Service says daytime highs in San Diego will be at or slightly below seasonal levels through Monday, with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 60s. The nightly lows will be in the 50s, and it looks like Monday and Tuesday will be especially chilly as the temperature drops to 51.
The county’s inland foothills and canyons will be about five degrees cooler during the day, and sharply cooler at night. The temperature will drop to 42 Sunday night in Poway.
The county is finally getting decent surf after a long period of small waves. Forecasters say the waves will be in the 4’ to 6’ range in South County Friday through Sunday, and 3’ to 4’ in North County. Sea surface temperatures are in the 59-61 degree range.
The weather service says that a moderate Santa Ana wind event may develop next Tuesday and Wednesday.
