President Trump is not happy with the way press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders handled questions about the porn star alleging she was his paramour.
Trump was upset Thursday over Sanders’ response to questions about adult film star Stormy Daniels and her lawsuit that argues Trump’s failure to sign a nondisclosure agreement means she can talk about their alleged affair, sources told CNN.
“POTUS is very unhappy,” the source said. “Sarah gave the Stormy Daniels storyline steroids yesterday.”
Sanders raised eyebrows Wednesday during her daily White house briefing when she said that Trump won an arbitration case against Daniels.
“Look, the President has addressed these directly and made very well clear that none of these allegations are true,” Sanders said.
Trump has not publicly addressed the alleged illicit dalliance.
“This case has already been won in arbitration and anything beyond that I would refer you to the President’s outside counsel,” Sanders added.
Trump’s longtime lawyer Michael Cohen has said there was no affair and that he paid the porn actress $130,000 out of his own pocket just days before the 2016 election.
Cohen obtained a secret restraining order in a private arbitration proceeding and warned that she faces penalties if she publicly discusses a relationship with the President, according to NBC News.
Daniels’ attorney says that there is “no question” that the President knew about the payoff.
The pair allegedly met in Lake Tahoe in 2006, months after Trump’s third wife, Melania, gave birth to his youngest son, Barron.
Sanders also falsely claimed that the “American people were aware of this, voted for the President.”
That is not true.
Voters may have been aware of sexual assault allegations made against Trump, but did not know about the hush money paid 11 days ahead of the election.
Daniels’ story only became public in January when it was reported by The Wall Street Journal.
