The managing partners of Whisknladle Restaurant and Prepkitchen in La Jolla opened a second location in downtown Del Mar, at 12th and Camino del Mar.
The new location bas a casual cafe atmosphere with farm-to-table find dining quality. The Del Mar location has an expanded dining room compared to the La Jolla location. It boasts 1,700 square feet of indoor and outdoor space with more than 60 seats, an outdoor fireplace and parking for diners.
Prepkitchen's philosophy is: "to serve exemplary slow-cooked meals made from the freshest foods."
"Our goal with Prepkitchen has always been to fill what we consider to be a gap in the local dining landscape," said Arturo Kassel, managing partner of Wisknladle and Prepkitchen. "We want to provide the quality you would expect from a fine dining establishment but with a relaxed and affordable feel that's focused on the food. It's a place you can enjoy expertly prepared, un-fussy, fresh food while wearing shorts and flip-flops. Our new location embodies that principal with a bigger, more beautiful and easily accessible space."
Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Wines and beers are served and Prepkitchen features an "afternoon aperitivo" happy hour, which includes any bottle of wine and Prepkitchen's cutting board of artisan cured meats and cheeses for $36.
