The Rancho Santa Fe Rotary named four R. Roger Rowe eighth-graders their students of the month on April 27. Those honored were Delaney McComb, Sean Depolo, DJ Magee and Shelby Scripps.
Superintendent Lindy Delaney and Roger Rowe himself touted each of their accomplishments in academics, athletics, citizenship and service.
"The advantage of life in a small time is that efforts and accomplishments of our youth are encouraged as well as recognized," Rowe said.
McComb is a straight-A student and violinist who plays volleyball, softball, tennis and golf.
Scripps is also a volleyball player with an A average, whom Delaney called the kind of student every teacher loves to have in class.
Depolo is a Boy Scout who runs cross country and track and field and also enjoys backpacking and fencing. Depolo also attended the National Youth Conference in Washington, D.C.
"He's an all-around outstanding young man," Delaney said.
Magee is a competitive golfer and Boy Scout who hopes to play golf at UCLA and become a lawyer.
Two high school seniors were also honored: Kate Cutting from Torrey Pines High School and Jordan Herrick of the Coastal Academy.
The Rotary honored the students with plaques and some words of wisdom from President-elect Maurice Rahimi.
