CV Manchester BU-8 Red won a close game over the FC San Diego B2000 Gold by a score of 3-2.
Manchester scored 2 goals early in the first half due to the up-front team work of Ishmael Uno, Jared Rubio and Alex Aguirre.
The second half was FC San Diego's turn to crank up the heat on offense. Manchester's defenders, Allen Carrillo and Zach Thorn, were continually having to beat back FC San Diego's efforts to reach goalie, Bryan Durazo (3 saves).
With 7 minutes left FC San Diego tied the game. However, Manchester was determined to keep up the fight on both ends of the field. With 2 minutes left, David Choi was able to punch one through to provide Manchester with the winning goal.
Manchester's next game is SD Surf BU-8 White at 5pm on Saturday, September 27, at Ashley Falls.
