Solana Ranch Daisy troop helps Stuff the Bus for SD Food Bank

The Solana Ranch Daisy Troop 3213 participated in the city-wide Stuff the Bus food drive Dec. 14 to benefit the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank. The troop’s location was the Pavilions grocery store in Carmel Valley’s Piazza Carmel and the girls were completely blown away by community’s generosity.
The Daisies collected six full shopping carts of food plus an additional $478.38 in cash that they then used to purchase an additional three carts of non-perishable foods for the San Diego Food Bank.

“We could not have been more proud of how the girls approached and spoke to adults, as well as how graciously they handled rejection,” said troop leader Adrienne Suster. “Each one of them was a superstar and our wonderful Carmel Valley community responded in kind! A huge thank you to everyone who donated.”

The Daisies of Troop 3213 were among 1,400 Girl Scouts across San Diego to participate in the food drive, which is put on by the Metropolitan Transit System and North County Transit District in partnership with Girl Scouts San Diego, Vons and Albertsons.
