Total solar eclipse 2017

The Carmel Valley Library was one of 27 San Diego Public Libraries to host a Sky Party for the solar eclipse on Aug. 21, the first total solar eclipse visible in the continental United States in 38 years. Locals waited in line for a chance to use a limited supply of viewing glasses. Some locals brought their homemade viewing boxes for the unifying celestial event.

Missed the eclipse? The next eclipse visible in the United States will be April 8, 2024.
