Paint the Town Pink
The Del Mar Village Association and members of the community once again joined forces Nov. 18 to cheer on thousands of walkers participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk in San Diego Nov. 18-20. A water station and cheering corridor were set up to root on the walkers, who began their journey at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Volunteers decorated the corridor in Del Mar with pink balloons and ribbons, and handed out water to each walker. Del Mar’s lifeguards and firefighters were present to show their support, and the Torrey Pines High School ASB and cheerleaders were also on hand to cheer participants on. Funds raised through the 3-Day Walk go to the Komen Foundation’s mission of “saving lives and ending breast cancer forever.” Visit www.komensandiego.org.
