Vote now to help CCA students win national art competition

Shoe designs by CCA students.

Canyon Crest Academy has placed in the top 50 for the Vans shoe design, a huge national art competition. A team of 11 CCA EVA conservatory students collaborated on the shoes “Local Flavor” and “Off the Wall.” In addition to the grand prize money and art scholarships, Vans will surprise CCA students and staff with a concert and BBQ if they win. To get into the top 5 and to win the grand prize of $75,000 (yes, all those zeros), all are needed to vote daily from today until May 4 at

Included in CCA’s impact statement for the competition was the following:

“Art classes aren’t just about what is being created. Students gain confidence and self-esteem in a way that shines through. The culture of our school is unique. By putting a large focus on the arts, the students respect the differences in each other and celebrate their diversities. Students are able to take a break from the stresses of their world and just create. Our goal is to give them that continued opportunity to find themselves and each other through art.”
