Champions for Health fundraiser includes golf, tennis and more
A hallmark fundraising event being sponsored by Champions for Health, the San Diego County Medical Society’s foundation arm, is targeted to raise more than $75,000 to support Project Access San Diego. The 6th annual Aces for Health Golf and Tennis Tournament will be held at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club on March 26.
Area golfers and tennis players are invited to sign up for this fundraising event, which includes an afternoon scramble shotgun-start golf tournament, tennis round robin play, and a concluding professional tennis exhibition game. While enjoying the picturesque North County venue, players, patrons and supporters raise much-needed funds for supporting Project Access San Diego.
Although the day will conclude with a reception, a dinner, and a silent auction, of great anticipation is the naming of the 2018 Health Hero Champion. This award is given annually in recognition of an area physician whose volunteerism has gone above and beyond in caring for underinsured or uninsured people referred through the Champions for Health’s Project Access San Diego. The award also recognizes the volunteer for effectively encouraging their peers to participate in Project Access, expanding the care available for underserved San Diegans.Visit bit.ly/2FdPYZr
Project Access San Diego is the Champions for Health’s flagship program, and is funded from generous donations by physicians and other medical professionals. Through this program, uninsured individuals in need of specialty medical care can gain access to needed care to restore health. The network of physicians, hospitals, surgery centers, and healthcare service partners provide a full-range of healthcare services at no cost to qualifying San Diego County residents.
