RB Chorale Scholarship applications due soon
Pat Bean and the RB Chorale will again be awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend a college or university to further their musical education. This year, they are pleased to announce that the music scholarship awards will be at least $15,000, which will be divided between six finalists. The Chorale is continually seeking sponsors and individuals who are willing to help increase the scholarship fund so that this amount might even be exceeded.
Applications for the 2018 RB Chorale Scholarship program will be accepted through April 21 and those who qualify will audition in front of the RB Chorale board and an esteemed panel of judges Saturday, May 5, in the world-class recording facilities of Studio West in Rancho Bernardo. An application form and further information can be obtained from the RB Chorale web site: www.rbchorale.org or contact Keith Cheney, scholarship chair, at 858-748-1273 or Leisl Sanchez, RB chorale president at 858-485-SONG (7664).
Application packages must include the following: completed application form; a summary of the applicants musical and scholastic plans; a short statement from a parent or guardian describing the family financial situation; copy of high school scholastic record, and letters of recommendation from a music teacher, friend or school official. Completed application packages must be postmarked no later than April 21, 2018 and mailed to the address on the application form.
Over the years, the RB Chorale has given over a quarter of a million dollars to further musical education and is again looking forward to another big season. RB Chorale’s Spring Scholarship shows will be held June 9-10 and will feature the RB Chorale and special performances by the scholarship recipients. Tickets go on sale in late April and will be available through RB Chorale members and www.rbchorale.org. The RB Chorale, Inc. is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization.
