A focus on the final stages of life and how to create a plan for making it as peaceful as possible will be the March topic in the last of a three-part series on “Living Well and Loving it All the Way” sponsored by Del Mar Community Connections.

The first discussion group is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. March 13 at the Del Mar Community Building. The same topic will be covered at 6:30 p.m. March 22 at a private residence.

The discussions will be facilitated by Dr. Mark Kalina, Integrative MD and hospice physician, who notes “There is so much fear around dying, very few people are comfortable talking about it, yet the outcome is inevitable for all of us. I believe by talking about death, acknowledging the fear and by learning from individuals who have witnessed and helped facilitate peaceful and beautiful endings, we can help people create a plan for themselves and their loved ones for the best possible end of life experience.”

Special guests at the discussions will be Dr. Bob Uslander, medical director, Integrated MD Care specializing in hospice and palliative care, and Bud Kaiicher, spiritual counselor.

Reservations and details may be obtained by calling Del Mar Community Connections at 858-792-7565.
