Solana Beach City Council Candidate Forum to be held Sept. 20

A City Council Candidate Forum for the residents of Solana Beach will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m. at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club located at 1505 Lomas Santa Fe Drive.

There are five candidates running for two open seats on the Solana Beach City Council. The five candidates are: Kristi Becker, Kelly Harless, Shawn McClondon, Craig Nelson and Valeri Paul. All the candidates have been invited to the forum and have made a commitment to participate.

The League of Women Voters will moderate the event and it will be in question and answer format. The League will provide cards for written questions and each candidate will be given the same amount of time to answer each question.

This public forum is sponsored by Solana Eastside Community Group (SECG), Condominium Organizations of South Sierra Avenue (COOSSA) and Save the Beach. All members of the community are encouraged to attend and meet the candidates.

Absentee ballots will be mailed to voters on Oct. 8 and the election is Nov. 6. There is no charge for the event and parking is free and convenient.
