Solana Beach Library to change hours, host Sheriff's Department open house

The Solana Beach Library will adopt new weekday opening hours as of Monday, June 18.

The library will open at 8 a.m. on weekdays, and at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, and be closed on Sunday, as in the current schedule. Closing hours will also remain the same, with the library closing at 6 p.m. on Monday and Thursday, at 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, and at 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, said branch manager Pat Tirona.

Rather than changing hours when schools are open as the library has done in the past, the new opening hours will be in effect year-round, Tirona said.

In other news, the library will host an open house with representatives of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12. The sheriff's officials will provide information on such topics as crime prevention and neighborhood watch, and answer questions.

For more information about the open house, contact Jonathan Simon at (760) 966-3588.
