Del Mar/Solana Beach Rotary bocce tournament Oct. 4 to benefit Reality Changers

In only a few weeks, the Del Mar-Solana Beach Rotary Club will put on its 19th annual Rotary Turf Bocce Ball Tournament and Fundraiser on Oct. 4 at the Del Mar Horsepark. A major beneficiary of the tournament again this year will be local group Reality Changers, with locations in San Diego and Solana Beach.

DMSB Rotary supports Reality Changers because of its remarkable success in helping transform lives, schools, and communities by providing youth from disadvantaged backgrounds with the academic support, financial assistance and leadership training to become first generation college students. Susan Hennenfent, a past president of DMSB Rotary, volunteers as a tutor and mentor at Reality Changers’ Solana Beach location and has been greatly impressed by its success. She said, “I see firsthand the positive transformation of students who progress through the Reality Changers program. And I’m very happy that contributions from our bocce tournament will help even more students take advantage of the opportunities they provide.”
