Chapter F-PS of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) in Del Mar recently announced that Nikita Krishman is the recipient of the STAR Scholarship for 2018. This scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for exceptional high school senior women to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the United States or Canada in the next academic year.

Nikita has attended The Bishop's School in La Jolla for the past five years and has an outstanding record of achievement and service. When she became aware of the needs of dogs who had problems with walking, she devised prostheses and actually created them using a 3-D printer.

When she was just 16, Nikita founded her own nonprofit, Creature Comfort & Care, in order to assist animals by making the prostheses and splints and offering them at no cost to the owners. Nikita will be attending Cal Berkley in the fall and hopes to major in economics with the idea of learning how to manage nonprofits.
