Gingerbread City Gala
Honorary Co-Chairs Ernest and Evelyn Rady helped raise awareness for epilepsy on Dec. 3 at The Grand Del Mar, marking the 60th year of the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County and a celebration at the annual Gingerbread City Gala (also host of the largest gingerbread structure competition on the West Coast). The competition included pastry creations by more than 60 top pastry artists.
Founded by philanthropist Sally B. Thornton, this holiday event also featured savory delicacies prepared by host chef William Bradley of Addison at The Grand Del Mar and celebrity chefs from San Diego’s premier restaurants, free champagne, wine, auctions and a fantasy chocolate masterpiece. Honorary celebrity chairman for the event was Dick Enberg.
All proceeds support the free programs and services offered to more than 50,000 children and adults with epilepsy in San Diego County. Call 619-296-0161 or visit www.GingerbreadCity.org.
