Marrow Fine shop in One Paseo has new sparkle

Marrow Fine is putting a twinkle in jewelry pieces from the past at its newly revamped lux storefront in One Paseo.
Jillian Sassone, the jewelry store’s founder and designer, said the new space is more elevated and mature.
“We (wanted to create) a space that felt different than other jewelry stores — (kind of) like a hotel lobby,” she said. “The idea is to have that kind of experience where you feel welcome and it doesn’t feel intimidating.”
The stylish, pink-hued renovations reflect that aesthetic and are a perfect fit for Sassone, who launched her fine jewelry line in 2017, shortly after reworking a pair of opal earrings inherited from her grandmother into a ring studded with turquoise and black diamonds. It was a passion project that sparked a new business.
Sassone and her husband, Jim, now run the company, which has two locations.
Bells + Whistles — the Los Angeles interior design firm that styled Marrow Fine’s Newport Beach outpost and the Sassones’ kaleidoscopic, mid-century house — created the dazzling new layout for the One Paseo store.
There, visitors are able to peek at Sassone’s one-of-a-kind designs, or better yet, sit down and share ideas for reworking the old pieces sitting in their jewelry boxes at home. Sassone’s team uses computer aided design (CAD) software to create a new vision for the pieces.
“It can be therapeutic to reset a stone, there’s an alchemy that takes place from pulling it out and starting fresh,” Sassone shared. “Jewelry is so meaningful that I… want to help (clients) transition into a new phase with that piece.”
The store also creates unique, custom designs for new jewelry, including engagement rings with black onyx and sapphire stones.
