One Paseo announces four restaurant tenants
One Paseo, the mixed-use center now under construction on the corner of Del Mar Heights Road and El Camino Real, has announced its first confirmed tenants, set to open in early 2019.
One Paseo will be home to Michael Mina and Ayesha Curry’s acclaimed International Smoke, modern organic Mexican restaurant Tocaya Organica, Top Chef Dakota Weiss’ Cali-meets-Hawaii Sweetfin Poké and Huntington Beach’s Ways & Means Oyster House.
These restaurants are the first look at the “curated retailers” Kilroy Realty aims to bring to the project.
“The diverse dining experiences from fine-casual to an upscale experience and everything in between contributes to our goal of creating an inviting environment that serves the community,” said Nelson Ackerly, senior vice president of Kilroy Realty. “Our team is focused on achieving a vibrant mix of tenants that can provide something for everyone.”
International Smoke, the collaboration between award-winning Chef Michael Mina and lifestyle expert and bestselling cookbook author Ayesha Curry, is inspired by their individual heritages and travels.The restaurant, which opened in San Francisco in November 2017, will explore global approaches to fire, grilling and smoke to create flavorful dishes.
“The food culture in San Diego embodies innovation through collaboration,” said Mina. “International Smoke came to life through my partnership with Ayesha, and we are so thrilled to be a part of the One Paseo project. We look forward to contributing to the San Diego culinary landscape.”
Tocaya Organica was founded in Venice, Calif. in 2016 with a mission for better eating. The fresh casual restaurant serves modern organic Mexican cuisine with a chef-driven menu committed to sustainability and using locally-sourced organic ingredients. The restaurant includes Los Angeles locations in Venice, West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Playa Vista and Century City, as well as one opening soon in downtown San Diego.
Sweetfin Poké bridges Hawaii’s traditional “soul food” and inventive California cuisine with its delicious, healthy poke bowls. Driven by Top Chef contestant, Chef Dakota Weiss, the fresh, fast casual restaurant serves both customizable and signature bowls with unique toppings made in-house. Sweetfin’s signature philosophy, from “Pole to Bowl,” represents its mission to source the highest quality and most sustainable raw fish.
Ways & Means Oyster House is an award-winning seafood restaurant concept founded by Parnell and Jennifer Delcham and Dena Mathe.The restaurant takes inspiration from heritage flavors and the environments of seaside clam shacks, oyster bars and harbor houses around the globe. The restaurant has locations in Huntington Beach and Portland, Ore.
When complete, One Paseo will include 95,871 square feet of retail, 280,000 square feet of office and 608 multi-family residential units. The first residential move-ins, along with the first retail element openings, are anticipated for the first quarter of 2019.
