New Pavilions store opens in Piazza Carmel

The Pavilions team celebrates its grand re-opening.

Piazza Carmel’s Pavilions grocery store celebrated its grand re-opening in Carmel Valley on June 27. The only Pavilions store in San Diego, it is owned by the Albertsons grocery store chain, which also operates Vons. Although similar to the Vons it replaced, Pavilion stores are more upscale and feature a larger selection of organic food, wine and other specialty foods.

As part of the ribbon-cutting festivities, Pavilions presented a $2,500 check to Carmel Del Mar Elementary School.

With a focus on “premier quality, freshness and variety” the store includes an expansive produce section and the finest cuts of meat and seafood—it offers USDA Prime, USDA choice, dry-aged, grass-fed and organic beef. Seafood is locally delivered by renowned Santa Monica Seafood.

The store will carry more than 2,200 wines including 500 new imported wines, 700 spirits and a wide selection of San Diego local and craft beers.

Piazza Carmel is located at 3810 Valley Centre Dr, San Diego, 92130.
