Tis’ the season for gifting and giving, and Queen Bee Market has partnered with The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank to host a food drive at the bi-annual shopping event held at Del Mar Fairgrounds on Friday, Dec. 15 and Saturday, Dec. 16.

The San Diego Food Bank will have a booth at Queen Bee Market, where representatives from the local non-profit will collect non-perishable goods. Queen Bee Market shoppers may also donate through the online virtual food drive, where people may select and pay for food items securely through the San Diego Food Bank’s website. Shoppers who donate five items, in-person or online, will receive a Queen Bee Shopping card worth 10 percent off their purchase at the expo.

Described as “Etsy comes to life,” the popular urban-style handmade market is feminine and fun, hosting vendors who make their products by hand from booths that are designed with flair. Co-owners of Queen Bee Market, sisters Kellie Dooley and Allison Gharst, meticulously selected more than 100 artisans who will be showcasing an array of handmade home décor, accessories, clothing, paper arts, vintage items, furniture and more. Attendees can also expect live demonstrations; make-and-take stations; and a lounge for shoppers to relax with couches and televisions. Popular cover artist Obadiah Parker and Christmas carolers will also perform live throughout the weekend.

Tickets to Queen Bee Market are priced at $3 per person and will be available for purchase at the door. Children 12 years old and younger and military with ID receive free entry. More information and the full list of participating vendors is available at queenbeemarket.com
