Man injured in suspected gang-related shooting in Solana Beach
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a suspected gang shooting in Solana Beach Tuesday night, June 26, that left a 21-year-old man injured.
Someone called 911 around 8:30 p.m. to report a fight involving several people on Loma Santa Fe Drive near Las Banderas Drive that escalated into a shooting, said sheriff’s Lt. Karla Menzies.
By the time deputies arrived, no one was at the location. A shooting victim showed up later at a local hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound and deputies determined he had been shot in Solana Beach.
His wounds were not considered life threatening, Menzies said. She said investigators believe the shooting is gang related.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s non-emergency dispatch line at (858) 565-5200.
