Kristi Becker has large lead in Solana Beach City Council race

Kristi Becker and Jill MacDonald are on pace to win two Solana Beach City Council seats, according to the latest results by the Registrar of Voters.
Becker, who was first elected in 2018, continues to hold a large lead against Kristin Brinner, a lead software engineer, in the race to represent the city’s 2nd District.
“I would be so honored to serve for another term,” Becker said.
MacDonald, who ran unopposed in District 4, has lived in Solana Beach for five years and in Del Mar for 20 years before that. She previously served on the City Council in Bunker Hill Village, Texas, and the Solana Beach School District’s board of trustees.
“It’s something that I’m familiar with in general, having served as an elected official before and having worked in the business of city management,” MacDonald said.
This election cycle will complete the city of Solana Beach’s transition to district-based elections. The city previously had five at-large council members.
