The San Diego-Coronado Bridge was closed for nearly four hours Thursday morning when a man threatened to jump off the span.
The man was taken into custody and officers were in the process of reopening the bridge, California Highway Patrol Officer Jim Bettencourt said shortly after 10:40 a.m.
Lanes on the bridge in both directions had been closed shortly before 7 a.m. after stopped his motorcycle on the bridge and threatened to jump.
Witnesses said the rider was driving erratically before he stopped on the bridge and made his threat.
During the closure, drivers headed to Coronado were directed to take Palm Avenue to the Silver Strand.
