Fog might delay flights early Sunday at San Diego International Airport

Thick fog was expected to flow ashore overnight and it could linger long enough to delay flights at San Diego International Airport early Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters say that the fog will extend three to five miles inland and will affect the entire coastal zone of San Diego County. Fog also could delay flights at Orange County’s John Wayne Airport.

The fog is expected to burn off between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Sunday.
