The sounds were spicy and the crowds were even spicier on Aug. 25, when the third concert in the Del Mar Powerhouse series featured Latin rhythms and a bongo beat.
Savor, the Carlos Santana tribute band, had concert-goers of all ages up on their feet and cha-cha-cha-ing ‘til the sun went down over Del Mar’s beautiful Powerhouse Park.
Every year, the Del Mar Foundation puts on the free concerts with the generous support of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, Jakes Restaurant, the Posieden Restaurant and Pam Slater-Price and the county of San Diego. These fun-filled community events are one of the things that make living in Del Mar so special.
As Slater-Price says: “Since 1983, the Del Mar Summer Twilight Concert Series at Powerhouse Park serves to enrich the lives of Del Mar residents and visitors alike. It has been a pleasure to support this event, through the county of San Diego, and help continue this popular cultural experience for generations to come.”
There’s only one more chance to catch a Powerhouse concert this year. “Ruby and the Red Hots” are hitting the stage on Sept. 13.
The Del Mar Foundation not only sponsors the Summer Twilight Series Concerts, but a host of other family and community activities.
