Big bucks for Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito hosted its 37th annual Bucks for Boys & Girls fundraiser at the Del Mar Fairground’s Surfside Race Place on Nov. 13.

The event, which featured a cocktail hour, horse races, dinner, a live auction and a $10,000 cash prize opportunity drawing (won by David Thomas, who donated it back to the Club), raised over $131,000 for the organization. The goal for the evening was to raise $102,000 to top the $4 million mark over the course of the event’s 37-year history.

“The entire evening was a testament to the men who have participated in Bucks over the years,” President and CEO Keith Padgett said. “We surpassed our goals, even during these tough economic times. We cannot thank this group of individuals enough for continuing to support our youth.”
