Bobcats end perfect season uncontested Big 8 champions

Carmel Valley Middle School Coach Cody Oreiro couldn’t be more impressed with his 7th grade volleyball team. Uncontested Big 8 champions, the Bobcats ended their perfect season with an 11-0 match record, having only dropped a single game, giving them a 22-1 game record. Fittingly the single game loss came from 2nd place team Diegueno.

“To be undefeated in any sport in any county is great, but to be undefeated in girls volleyball in San Diego County is truly something to be proud of,” Oreiro said. “San Diego fields the strongest volleyball section in America across all age divisions and this team is an example of where that greatness begins.”
